Wifey Podcast 21: Raynulds

The good folk at Wifey have recently delivered on to us their latest podcast, number 21 in a an ever-good series of mixes, and it’s absolutely cracking. Our man Raynulds (once known as Ray Nulds, soon to be Dr. Reynolds) steps up in serious ways, showing off proper deck skills and some of the best selection you’re likely to hear of late.

With a handful of festival dates, late night parties and productions under his belt this year, it’s been a more than decent 2014 for Raynulds. Pulled up as a permanent fixture for Bruk radio on the mighty Sub.fm, the man’s grind is producing some top notch results for us to enjoy.

For their own part, Wifey have established themselves as one of the most reliable names in London. Special Request (big up TK and crew), Cut Hands and Bass Clef are among some of our favourite artists who’ve featured on their nights. One of the select few promoters who you know are going to throw a good party even if you’ve not seen a single name on the bill.

There’s a track list kicking about, but we won’t be posting it this week. Get your system loud and phones on and enjoy the unexpected as he selects his way across acid, techno, off-centre house and the always reliable bass music plates pulled from his bag that make the crowd move.

You won’t be able to see the tracks coming, but it flows brilliantly, proper deck skills from the one and only.

Following on from our last one courtesy of Billy Blanks, the latest Wifey mix comes from another of the Bruk crew, Raynulds. Raynulds operates primarily as a member of Bruk’s radio collective rather than their club DJ battle unit and you can catch him most Thursdays 8-10 on SubFM. Starting out deep and hazy, the mix quickly strides through off-kilter house, garage and acid before triangulating between Mala, grime and techno.
