Two Parties For Saturday Night – One Bad Habit / MMM

London may be the most expensive place I’ve ever lived, but damned if it doesn’t pay dividends for the scene it houses (no pun intended). Two big events are happening this Saturday, 5th of February, unfortunately falling on the same night, but luckily both in EC2.

I’ve been looking forward to Fudge Fingas debut LP, titled Now About How, dropping on Prime Numbers in March. He’s called in Firecracker Records family House Of Traps, for what’s bound to be a massive night in the lead up to it’s release. It’s all going down at The Book Club, for £5, 100-106 Leonard Street, London, EC2A 4RH, at the One Bad Habit monthly night.

One Bad Habit’s disco monthly at this sublime subterranean Shoreditch lair kicks on with the monthly parties that have seen Robert Owens, Crazy P, Blackjoy and the Love Fever boys get deep and dirty. Joining the late licensed frolics this month is Resident Advisor favourite Fudge Fingas and Firecracker Recording’s House of Traps showing us how Edinburgh do disco. Expect sweaty sexed up dance music downstairs while in the upstairs bar local artist scenester Steff Steffo gets drunk and plays laptop air horn special effects, Dire Straits (and quite likely the Star Wars imperial march).

Over to the Man Make Music, who continue to dominate the scene with their parties and seem to be having a hell of a lot of fun doing it. They’ll be dropping records at their favourite haunt The Star Of Bethnal Green, going till 4am once more. The dope lineup of familiar faces is topped by Belgium producer San Soda of We Play House fame, and Julian Neumann who’ll be doing his thing live.

For our first Star of 2011 we’ll be welcoming San Soda to our corner. The We Play House Recordings boss has been taking dance floors back a couple of decades with his retro tinged house jaunts. Producing under a variety of different monikers, including FCL, San Soda was responsible for some of 2010’s finest tracks including ‘Let’s Go’ and ‘More Than Seven’.

Earlier on in the night we’ll have Julian Neumann who’ll be playing live… on keys and drum machine. Julian has been part of the crew for a while now, who’s debut release, ‘Clouds EP’ on Klopfgeist received rapturous reviews last year. 2011 is set to be big year for him as he prepares to release on Third Ear and our very own Man Make Music label (watch this space).

Support comes from the Brixton boys Fill Yer Boots, EU trio Love&Mercy and the one-and-only DJ Sketchy. This one’s going to be super spesh plus we’re going ’til 4am again, so get in early to get your spot on the dance floor!
