Spacebass @ Meter [LDN 23.6] / Liamski Podcast

There’s no shame in our love for SpaceBass friends and family, who, along with Special Request and Lostbahnhof make up the holy trinity of vibes London nights. The collective’s manning the decks with Ben Morris (Big Poppa Love aka NOT the Australian breaks dude) and Semtek this Saturday at a venue where you can get pizza by the meter. It doesn’t get much better than that.

It’s all happening at Meter (formerly upstairs Camp – or possibly still Camp but with pizza, not entirely sure the deal there) this Saturday from 10:00pm onwards, full details through the RA link below.

via Resident Advisor
SpaceBass bring the noise to Meter, with extended residents sets and two special guests you’re sure to hear something you like (unless you like folk, you won’t hear any of that, or metal for that matter, in fact you’d better like house and techno and disco and hip hop….).

Ctop and Liamski will be playing longer sets than usual at this one and could well be celebrating England reaching the semi finals of Euro 2012, depending on how the results go… Expect disco, house and techno played in just the right order.

Special guests for the occasion are:

Semtek (Don’t be Afraid)
Semtek owns the ever brilliant Don’t be Afraid record label, which is going from strength to strength and has been all over 2012 with a string of essential releases. He has also recently released material of his own on Andy Blake’s World Unknown and can be found expertly spinning house and techno across London at excellent parties such as ours, his own Special Request night, World Unknown, Rhythm Section and more. His next release is about to drop on Awkward Movements records, details of which can be found here: http://www.awkwardmovements.com/2012/06/release-semtek-bento-bento-scott.html

Ben Morris (Big Poppa Love)
Raconteur and bon viveur Ben Morris Esq. is steeped in music history and knows dance music inside out, we’re very pleased to have him on board and you should be too.

And Meter will of course be offering its usual blend of brilliant Neapolitan pizzas and well balanced cocktails, we hope to see you there.

On this tip here’s a mix worth checking. About a month ago Liamski dropped this rather stunning podcast on to us, appropriately titled House An’ That Part 1, with selections that hit the spot perfectly. Opening with Lukid, through some Arttu and Omar S before ending with Madlib, take an hour or so to check it out.
