Still early days but why shouldn’t we get hyped when we get news like this? Phonica representer and long time London underground don Raimo is stepping up to the plate (quite literally) big time for 2012, launching his own label Lampuka Records.
LAMPUKA001 is announced and coming from underground producer Tomas Rubeck, who’s been floating in and out of the spotlight at his own pleasure for the last couple of years. Known for his soundcrafting abilities it’s a perfect match that’s complimented with remixes from the label boss himself and Firecracker family-man Fudge Fingas. It’s an all-star plate that sees everyone delivering, you can see why we’re excited. Record rumour mills suggest that we’re going to be dealing with hand-stamped limited heat on this, we’ll keep you updated as we find out more.
Five tracks are floating about, embedded below via the label’s soundcloud, though it’s more likely going to be a four-tracker for the wax release. No release date set on this, and whilst we generally hold off posting about records till they’ve been pressed, bought and consumed, having spotted the previews we managed to get some promos to check out early. This is proper house, loaded with soul, the likes of which we haven’t got this excited about in a while.
