NTS Awkward Movements Show – 29.4.13

Seriously heavy session from Paul Ackroyd aka Kamikaze last week for the fortnightly Awkward Movements show on NTS. Despite some studio issues with no monitoring, it came out sounding a bit peaky but dope notnhteless, some proper vibes selections getting a rawer edge due to the fact. Highlights from Ramesh on Pharaway sounds, Incite Hu, Steve Summers on L.I.E.S. and blind violinist Professor Dwaram Venkataswamy Naidu rescued from early 20th century 78s. Show favourites return in the form of tracks from Torn Hawk, new Demdike Stare, Conlon Nancarrow and Kink Gong; and of course it wouldn’t be complete without Muslimgauze making an appearance. Quality all round.

Full track list and archive below, to stream or download at your leisure. Skip about three minutes to bypass some awful soul track from the show before.

Next session for Awkward Movements is going out Monday, 13th of April, 2-4pm. We’ve started puling some wax for it – get locked.
