Sometimes you got to work for it, other times it’s too easy. Last Monday’s Awkward Movements show on NTS left us spoiled for choice, the culmination of a stunning few months of new music to our ears (some just pressed and others we were plenty late on) that needed sharing. New Demdike Stare series definitely a cause for celebration, the ‘Test Pressing‘ series on Modern Love set to blow some minds, as is new Container who, in many ways was the crossroads for the show’s beginnings. A continual exploration of where live instrumentation blends with electronics via Groupshow, Berliner Ring and Mike Cooper just to name a few, and definitely enjoyed being able to play two John Fahey joints recorded 40 odd years apart.
