Nightflight Records

Nightflight RecordsYou may have clocked Jimmy Monsta Funk’s mix for Nightflight Radio (https://awkmo.co/nightflight-radio-podcast-19-jimmy-monsta-funk-on-a-detroit-trip/) late last year. 39 tracks of proper house from JMF for the Belgian crew’s podcast. More good news coming from them this month as they launch their vinyl only label – Nightflight Records – which will no doubt be focused on hi-tech funk, touching on house, techno, electro and everything beyond as long as it is funky, soulful and spiced up with some Detroit groove.

Their first release is the four-track Extrasoul For The Mind 12″ featuring G-Prod and Erell Ranson each given a side for two-cuts each. Both producers straight out of France who are ‘deep’ in the deep game, with these tracks having already caught the ears of French techno don Laurent Garnier and US DJ / producer and Midwest hero Titonton Duvanté.

Official release is planned for 30/3/19 and pre-sales are already available online at the below:

PRESS RELEASE: –
(release date: 30/3/2019)

The first cut on Nightflight Records comes from the artists, G-prod and Erell Ranson, both hailing from the land of wine, cheese and the “gilets jaunes”. Both artists have a deep love for Detroit and they combine this soulful D-groove with their own subtle deep touch which results in some wicked Hi-Tech Funk. G-prod’s “Tell me” is a deep, funky techno track that builds up with warm sounds and brings you in a higher ecstatic state. Their dubby “The Rites of Glamounja” will chill you to the bones with its deep and harmony full melodies. Erell Ranson provides two deep electrofunk tracks “How Dare You” and “We’re Going Deep”and he knows how to mengle the depths of UK electronics with the soul of the US.

The story has just begin.

Erell Ranson
Born in 1977 and raised in the north of France, Erell Ranson was influenced by the synthetic wave of the Seventies (Kraftwerk, Vangelis…) that he discovered thanks to his uncle. In 1989 – 1990, he discovered techno music on Maxximum Radio where Laurent Garnier hosted a show, called “RaveMaxx”. Since that time, music was an essential part of his life….. After many weekends visiting parties, he started deejaying at small local parties and began to buy 12 inches. Then, the urge to create his own tracks started to raise naturally. In 1997, he bought various machines, and started programming sounds and music. Very influenced by the sound of Detroit (UR, Robert Hood, Jeff Mills, Carl Craig,…) and the melancholic sound of this scene, he focused his productions on this style. Following his “ancestors”, he produces deep and melancholic tracks and led to releases on AW Recordings, Childhood Electronix, Kalahari Oyster Cult, Elektrosoul, aDepth Audio and Sabbateans.
