It’s been quiet here, and that’s probably been expected. There’s been sickness, job losses, the best and the worst of people discovered all over the globe and within our own backyards. I’m sure you’ll agree people much smarter than me have had much more relevant commentary to share as the world changes. For me personally, it’s been a pretty intense time of self-reflection.
I was looking forward to Kamikaze, Jimmy Monsta Funk and myself coming together to present a series of Solstice mixes this week. But for a variety of reasons they didn’t come together in time for the sun reaching its excursion extremity. I don’t necessarily think that’s a bad thing though. The mixes will come, but it’s hard to box out what’s happening on a more local scale.
After scrapping what he was doing for the Solstice series Paul Ackroyd aka Kamikaze pulled this mix together for us. These are tracks that have been bouncing around his head while he watches that Black Lives Matter movement unfold. I’m sure we’ve all had a soundtrack in our heads the last few months, and Paul’s ability to share his mind through music is a wonderful gift.
I hope you enjoy it too.
