Innervisions: An Evening At The Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari

I’m a big fan of the Henrik Schwarz live show. Having seen him at a few festivals and various venues over the last few years, I’ve never had my increasing expectations not met. He’s one of the few artists I’ll always try to see when he’s in town, and his involvement in this project with his label family guarantees a quality outcome.

As part of Ron Arad curating and creating his own unique space at the Roundhouse this summer, the world renowned industrial designer is inviting his friends to play and display around his 360 degree installation. Curtain Call is a performance area and an artwork in itself, “made of 5,600 silicon rods, suspended from an 18 metre diameter ring – a canvas for films, live performance and audience interaction.”

Amongst the events comes a collaboration with Innervisions, the Berlin based deep house label who’ve been donning the scene since their inception in 2005, undeniably one of the leaders in the record game.

Label bosses Dixon and Âme will be joining Henrik as they collaborate on and perform live their newly written score for the 1920s silent horror film The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. Arguably the first horror film ever made, The Cabinet… is not only a treasure from German expressionism but is defiantly credited with introducing the “twist ending” in to cinema. Instilling a new score has no doubt been a brilliant experience for the trio of electronic musicians.

Not the cheapest of events (£25 / £18) we’ve thrown up here but set to be one of the best. Full details below.
