Friction Presents Elevate w/ Rockwell, Goldie, Dub Phizix [LDN 8.2.13]

Proper heavyweight lineup for London Warehouse Events x Shogun Audio in a few weeks, secret Shoreditch venue still to be announced. As a follow-up to last year’s rave at Great Suffolk Street, Friction’s on curation duties once more as well as headlining with a three-hour set. This time around it’s just the one-room, a more intimate warehouse space with drum ‘n’ bass royalty on the lineup all night.

Metalheadz boss Goldie is in attendance as the top support for Friction, and needs no introduction, but for those after a Metalheadz refresher course I recommend stopping by Timmy K’s Metalheadz Tribute mix: https://awkmo.co/awkward-movements-sessions-48-timmy-k

Rockwell’s been the crossover don from drum ‘n’ bass ever since ‘Reverse Engineering‘ dropped on Darkestral Recordings. More so than any of his contemporaries do his tracks go across the entire electronic spectrum of DJs playing them out. Super technical as always, his live shows are epic, and as a DJ he pulls out what you wouldn’t expect to hear and makes it work everytime. Rockwell plates are ‘buy on site’, and no one sounds like him, definitely  producer in his own vein. He’s going to be a highlight from the night, worth price of entry alone no doubt.

Also in support comes a killer MC lineup led by GQ & SP:MC, top notch quality, and the decks lineup is rounded off by Bringa and of course Dub Phizix, who incidentally dropped this quite recently, and it’s pure fire.

Watch this space the days after, as Timmy K aka Phomandark will be in full effect shooting on the night. Flyer up the top, full details below and you can get tickets here: http://www.residentadvisor.net/event.aspx?392466

After what’s gone down in clubbing folklore as the meanest D&B rave this year, Shogun Audio are ready to follow up their Great Suffolk Street Warehouse success with another all-new event in London in one of the coolest venues in the city; FRICTION presents ELEVATE.

Friction has never forgotten his roots and as the worldwide voice of drum & bass on BBC Radio 1 still recognises that getting up, close and personal with your favourite artists can also provide some of the most extraordinary experiences for you the fans. That’s why on the 8th February 2013 he’s kicking off an-new, all-star show with London Warehouse Events to bring you a more intimate portrayal of himself. Shogun and very special guests in a fresh space in Shoreditch. Featuring an exclusive 3 hour expansive DJ set from the legend Friction himself, Elevate will bring together performances from some of his favourite artists from throughout the scene and serve as the ultimate prelude to the more full-on Great Suffolk Street parties that will follow in the new year.
Starting as they mean to go on with one of the most heavyweight line-ups that speaks for itself, Elevate brings a breath of fresh air for 2013.

“After the scale of the last event at Great Suffolk Street I wanted to do something different; then we found this amazing warehouse space in Shoreditch. It’s smaller, more intimate, more intense where I can really connect with the dance floor over a longer set. Really looking forward to this one”. Friction – Shogun Audio

Venue to be announced…..

The supporting cast need no introduction either with jungle legend Goldie the first pick on Friction’s list for this one. Dub Phizix, Rockwell and Bringa will bring a new edge to a line-up that will certainly provide a journey from the old to the new, providing a fresh insight into the movement.
