Damn, can’t believe there’s still some of these left. Juno are actually giving away physical copies of this limited 7″ they’ve curated as a Christmas present to their customers. Yes, a free 7″ with well appointed tracks from FaltyDL and JD Twitch. Dope.
We all know what FaltyDL can do, and after the amazing year he’s had this late-entry has definitely not been phoned in, and could well be one of his signature joints of 2011. Beautifully tweaked synths sliding over the shuffling rhythm patterns that have made his presence on wax known in the clubs worldwide.
On the flip comes JD Twitch, who again has smashed it over the last 12 months, bringing on some form of Xmas-chop-drone (I love making up genres, here’s hoping this one sticks) also known as cheerful-noise-edit music that glides together as if played live on a beat-machine.
I’m all about this 7″, I’d be picking it up even if it wasn’t free, and the fact that it comes nicely packaged shows even more so they’ve one all out on putting together something they’re proud of as opposed to a dodgy rushed out promo item. Check out clips and press release below.

To celebrate Christmas 2011, the Juno Plus editorial staff have been entrusted with curating a festive release; a little present from all of us at Juno HQ, if you will.
For this project we decided to call on two of the producers who have consistently intrigued, confounded and surprised us in recent times: FaltyDL and JD Twitch.
Brooklyn-based producer FaltyDL has truly excelled this year, with You Stand Uncertain, his second album for Planet Mu complemented by a raft of reliably killer 12″s for Swamp 81, All City, and, most recently, Ninja Tune. Mr JD Twitch meanwhile has slowly been moulding the Optimo Music imprint into a must-check esoteric label, as well as putting out an increasingly varied array of his own productions including Cumbia edits and some illuminating Doubleheart material with Neil Landstrumm on NonPlus. Oh, and he put together a hugely entertaining Halloween mix together for us a month or so back.
We couldn’t press up a Christmas single without some kind of nod to the traditional music fare that comes at this time of year, so we scored a wonderfully atmospheric edit of a festive staple from Senor Twitch, entitled “Psylent Night”. The other side, or the Festivus side as we’ve unofficially dubbed it, features some more club-focused tackle in the shape of FaltyDL’s “Debris”.
The 7″ will come housed in lovely hand-numbered artwork designed by the talented James Kirkup and is pressed on crystal clear vinyl. Best of all, we’ll be giving it away free with any order on www.juno.co.uk.
