Awkward Movements x Illum Sphere @ Talking At Me

Bringing the bass out West, Awkward Movements are pulling together the crew to take over a portion of Talking At Me, one of West London’s most consistently quality parties. Joined by a special guest Illum Sphere to help launch the event, this is going to be a heavy night not to be missed. Make sure you get down early doors to get in free, as Illum’s going to be rocking it before midnight.

Check the press release below.

Talking At Me resident DJs Rita Maia (BadMood, Portugal), Kobe1 (YoYo) and NoOneSpecial deliver upfront dance music highlights with UK Funky, future garage and breaks all getting a work-out. Rita is a founding member of Portugal’s Badmood Collective, and has pioneered bass culture in Lisbon and London. Her set weaves between the sounds of artists like Mount Kimbie to dubstep with a Brazilian flavour. Listen to her radio show, Motions, every Sunday, 7-9pm via Badmood.net

Awkward Movements take over the decks from 9pm until midnight, building up to the kind of bass-heavy beats and future sounds that’s become synonymous with their name. Dubs and one-offs always figure among the beats, hip hop, tech, wobbles and bass going across all styles…
Regular residents Kamikaze DJs (Dandelion), Ray Nulds (Voodoo Rave / Man Make Music) and Keith P are joined by Hoya:Hoya selector and founder Illum Sphere headlining alongside Dodger Man for a massive night.

Dodger Man – Dodger Man continues going from strength to strength having played the festivals and gotten props from Joy Orbison and George Fitzgerald as the best new name conquering underground. Fresh from his debut wax plate release with Awkward Movements he’s been ripping apart bass music through his live sets, his reputation’s well earned as the future of the underground sound.

Illum Sphere – One of the founders of Hoya:Hoya, RBMA graduate and electronic pioneer, Illum Sphere’s one of the most in demand producers and DJs today. Championed by Mary Anne Hobbs, Martyn and Gaslamp Killer, Illum Sphere’s broken the UK scene’s back with his forward thinking production and DJ sets. He’s spent the last 12 months flying the world to turn out parties such as Low End Theory in LA, no doubt something special for the heads.
