Following on from a handful of ill guest mixes Raynulds brings it back with a brilliant Awkward Movement Sessions for #19. Mal’s skills on decks have gone off the radar, and it’s been even crazier since he started dropping more house and tech alongside his funky and bass selections. Delivering pure heat once more he serves up 20 track selections in an epic 80 minutes of seamless mixing and flow.
As well as dropping with us, Man Make Music and Late Night Jams he’s one half of Voodo Radio with partner Jambie. Having consistently killed it and made a name for themselves on Innacity (6-8 Saturdays), watch this space for news of the duo taking on an additional slot on Sub.fm.

Both sides of this have been getting props and drops from the likes of Jackmaster, Lil Silva, Jam City and Marcus Nasty among others. The first half of the mix dots around some house-y plates old and new, which I’ve been getting into recently. I’m particularly feeling Levon Vincent and Omar S at the moment… After that I’m moving into more current stuff with a Bass / UK Funky selection headlined by the Awkward Movements family’s latest addition, NKC, following up with some solid releases from reliable labels and producers. Special shout to Contakt on a great first release. A slight detour back into house but with a distinctly modern sound comes courtesy of Julio Bashmore and George Fitzgerald, and shortly after we take it dark for the last few.
Hessle Audio is my favourite label and the latest Pangaea continues this trend mightily, followed by the new Swamp plate, showing off a sound which promises to become even bigger this year. I always like finishing on a classic, and Circulate by 2562 definitely fills that criteria, still sounding fresh after nearly 4 years.
