Back after a decent hiatus for the festive season, Awkward Movements Sessions returns with myself on decks, dropping a load of plates I’ve been rinsing live and in discussion with others. Shouts to JCT at If, Phonica family, BM Soho and Jimmy Monstafunk who’ve been putting me on to a load of tunes lately.
We’ve been busy queing up big things for 2011 – including an annual warehouse residency, getting the crew around the world and UK, new plate from Daojia as well as working our way through our guest mix wishlist for Samurai.fm – which’ll be going up in the coming weeks and months.
First show of the year, Keith P serves up the first wax releases of 2011 alongside a handful of classics and big joints from the back end of last year. 70 minutes of tunes heavily tipped in the bass house and techno, but never straying too far from it’s electronic dub-roots.
Tunes from Slackk alongside Model 500, classic Derrick May played with Braiden, as well as joints from Geiom, Tom Trago, the big Hudson Mohawke remix of Krystal Klear on Lucky Me, straight through the modern bass sound and closing with some Chicago jack-house from an unknown artist and Pirahnahead’s big Detroit plate of the last 12 months.
