One of the best sessions I’ve had the pleasure of curating for a while, with Dodger Man‘s ‘Classics…‘ mix running loose for about 40 minutes of the show. With all the chat recently on the brief history and evolving life of bass music the time seemed right for him to drop it – and it’s even bigger than we expected it to be. We’re working on some mini-clips to accompany it, so be sure to watch the youtube space for when that gets thrown up. And despite the fact we went crazy overtime we didn’t get to drop nearly as many new pieces as we’d wanted, there might be another show going up soon to compensate.
In the meantime we’re getting close to locking down the joints for AWK003, which should be announcing the artists for around the same time the live acts for the new residency get confirmed. Also, from the massive response we got from his Underground Resistance article, Jimmy Monsta Funk has promised us a short run of weekly articles that’ll start sometime int he near future. It’s gonna be a big couple of months.
Across the board and bass heavy as always, right across Awkward Movements Sessions #13 kicks it up a notch with Keith P behind the decks and Dodger Man delivering on his ‘Golden Years of Dubstep’ mix. Pure classics from Digital Mystikz, 2562, Martyn, Headhunter and Coki just to name a few, not to be slept on.
The rest of the show serves up new bits in techno, future garage, and bass music with selections from the Wild Oats, Kicks and Snares and Yellow Machines labels as well as from artists such as Spatial, The Raah Project, Silkie and Free The Robots.
