So first thing’s first, and it’s good news. James Leyland Kirby, the man behind musical projects of The Caretaker and V/Vm (pictured above) to name but two, does not in fact have early onset dementia as we mentioned in the show. It is in fact the character of The Caretaker who he has given the disease to, which will be chronicled musically across six albums over the next three years. Everywhere At The End Of Time is the name of the first LP, out now and definitely worth picking up.
We managed to get away with only playing one track off of it on last week’s Awkward Movements show on NTS, dropped alongside some Ras G, Four Tet, Basic House and an excerpt from a new Howlround cassette. On that note we’ve heard word of a DVD and new LP from those guys coming end of 2016 or early 2017 which is plenty of reason to get excited.
Jay Glass Dub returns as does Powell with a new LP on XL Recordings, and we also push out to Diamond Submlimating on cassette and Rattle for the first time. Loads more heat in there, too much to mention, but there’s a full track list below above the stream.
