Awkward Movements on NTS – 16.5.15

Archive here from the last Awkward Movements show on NTS, which originally broadcast the weekend before last. Paul Ackroyd aka Kamikaze on decks hosting a brilliant show as always.

Kicking off with 2013 Dead Albatross winner Ela Orleans, the two hour session loaded in a tonne of favourites with new bits and a bit of archive too. Muslimgauze, Broadcast, Ras G and RP Boo among those, but surprisingly the first time that Bourbonese Qualk, The Slits and Alice Coltrane have gone out from us. Glaring oversites that I’m glad Paul corrected.

We’ve both been rinsing a lot of Seekersinternational of late, stoked to see something from his Digitalis release in there, which prompted me to go back to his amazing debut full-length The Call From Below.

Full show below for streaming, get in touch for the download link. Apologies, it seems I missed some requests a few weeks back but feel free to chase.

Next show goes Friday night / Saturday morning UK time. No idea what we’ll be doing but with the walkman fixed we’re definitely planning on bringing out a load of recent tapes alongside the usual swag of wax from the record collection and forthcoming bits.

Get locked.
