All My Records Episode 5

Record sleeves used in the show

Here we go with another episode of All My Records, doing what the title suggests: playing all my records. Episode 5 kicks off the second shelf in the adventures, which I’m going to try and do more frequently than every few months, hence the shorter format for this show.

As always recording straight from the deck and the Shure SM58 to the Zoom H5. On first glance it seemed that there was to be loads of mid ‘000 onwards ‘beat generation’ joints, but for this show at least it quickly swerved in to some psyche-tinged funk and heavy boogie joints.

We started off with Remy LBO’s debut LP Component, then to an Illum Sphere 12″ on Tectonic from 2011, the wonderful Johnny Trunk’s Scrap Book LP, the ever good Mr. Chop aka Coz Littler and his debut full length on the underrated Jazz&Milk Recordings, James Pants, that Dam-Funk 12″ plate on Stones Throw that announced him to the world, a collaboration between Shawn Lee’s Ping Pong Orchestra and Nino Moschella remixed by Mark Pritchard (which I have no recollection about), the legendary and sole One Self LP Children Of Possibility and finally closing it off with a white / test pressing of the instrumental edition of DJ Mitsu The Beats’ sophomore LP from 2009 A Word To The Wise.
